Strong inside hand and arm help to maintain good lateral balance.
Continued pushing forward of the inside hand, arm, shoulder, and hip makes for very strong angles and edge hold. The opposite is rotation, which destroys your turn.
By the looks of this and your eyes it appears you are about to make a medium or longer turn. If that's the case possibly is the uphill pole drag giving you a feel for hill pitch to maintain perpendicularity?
In medium to short turns I'd suggest keeping uphill pole tip out of the snow so it never hangs up possibly throwing you back as you execute
In summary as you suggest that uphill hand position is critical and I'd add keeping pole tips close to the snow
