Counter Acting, Good for your Skiing!

          Here is a US Ski Team member

 using "Counter Acting" movements or CA.As many of you know from reading my books, especially my last book "Harald Harb's Essentials of Skiing", "Counter Acting", is an important part of "Complete Upper Body Development" in skiing. In my new "Essentials " DVD series I present how to achieve counter acting movements. Most skiers don't counteract an d if they do, they don't do it knowingly. Most instructors don't realize the importance of counteracting and don't teach it. 

In the PMTS System, you realize CA immediately and it has an immediate accelerating effect on your skiing improvement.

The Rock!! Finger points to the Roof in the climb.
The climbing area is in Clear Creek, Colorado about 15 min from our house. The rock is called "Crystal Tower".




The warm up to the climb, with the Roof called "Skipping Stones" 5.11c.

Getting across the Creek "Tyrolian Traverse" to the climb, is almost as strenuous as the climb.

Some great footage where I'm demonstrating different techniques and movements you can make on Carvers at Mt Hood, with Jay Peterson following. Jay is one of our top PMTS coaches. This is one of the best roads for Carving in the US. It's in Government Camp, OR. A long run with perfect a pitch, you have to have some experience controlling speed on Carvers, as it gets fast in places. The road has little traffic and good pavement.

Still lots of climbing left this fall.

July rehab

Topping out on one of the City of Rocks climbs.

Great climbing and camping at City of Rocks, Idaho.

July was a slow month, with rehab for my knee. Lots of range of motion stretching and little actually training. Not a fun combination.

I did get in as much climbing and biking before my surgery as possible. Here are photos from City of Rocks which is in Idaho, three hours west of Slat Lake city.
